Purpose and Source Boundaries
Michigan public-record access can involve more than one custodian. A city police report documents an event, the Lenawee County Jail holds county intake information, a court file can show what happened later, and Michigan DOC OTIS covers a separate state-supervision record. This reference brings those distinctions together so a search does not confuse an old archive, a news item, or a state result with current jail custody.
Lenawee County does not publish a public web roster, a daily booking feed, or a county-hosted booking-photo gallery in the sources reviewed. The reliable local routes are the Jail’s automated inmate-information system, Sheriff records and FOIA channels, municipal record requests, and the proper MiCOURT search. Michigan FOIA, including MCL 15.231, supplies the statutory access framework; it does not require a public photo website or guarantee disclosure of every item.
Records Topics Covered
The material is organized around the source that can answer a particular records question. It does not substitute a generic arrest list for official verification.
- The home hub explains the county Jail phone route, Sheriff-held booking records, FOIA requests, court status, state custody, and county news-source limits.
- Wanted Fugitives addresses safe official warrant-checking and makes clear that no verified county public warrant roster was located.
- Arrest News separates dated local reporting from a complete booking record and preserves the accusation-not-conviction distinction.
- City pages distinguish the Adrian, Tecumseh, and Blissfield police-record paths from county intake at Lenawee County Jail.
- Official state, federal, and court resources are labeled by the custody or case stage they actually cover.
What This Service Cannot Do
This is not a government office and has no affiliation with the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, Lenawee County Jail, Michigan DOC, a court, or another public agency. It cannot release someone, confirm a person’s present custody, post bond, arrange a visit, retrieve an official record, or offer legal advice. An arrest is an accusation rather than a conviction, and charges can be reduced, dismissed, or otherwise changed in court.
- It cannot certify that a record, phone number, fee, or office schedule remains current.
- It cannot determine whether a person is in county, state, federal, or immigration custody.
- It cannot decide what a public office must disclose or whether a record is restricted.
- It cannot publish, sell, or provide a booking-photo gallery.
Only the originating public office can confirm current custody, a release, an official charge, or the status of a records request.
Search Partners
Some pages include a search box operated by an independent provider. That provider sets its own results, terms, and pricing. If a visitor chooses a paid partner service after using a link or tool, Lenawee County Busted Mugshots may receive a referral fee that helps support the reference. A referral does not control the partner’s output or guarantee that its information is complete, current, or official.
